Abstract
Objective To improve the method of making chronic myocardial infarction models in rat and increase the survival rate. Methods Rats were anesthetized by intraperitoneal injection of pentobarbital sodium solution, and left anterial descend artery was ligated. After the operation, the respiratory tract of rat was cleared. Results Survival rate was 76% after operation and 67.5% beyond four weeks. Conclusion The ligated position of the left anterior descending coronary artery must be accurate.Postoperative intensive care of respiratory tract is important to ensure the survival of the rats and the success of the models.
