Abstract

TiB2 50Ni cermet composite powders were fabricated by mechanical alloying,and TiB2 50Ni coating was prepared by high velocity oxygen fuel method. The microstructure of TiB2 50Ni powders and coating was examined by scanning electron microscopy,and phase composition was investigated by means of X ray diffraction,the porosity and microhardness of coating were also investigated. The results show that with the milling time prolonging,size of TiB2 gradually decreases,binder phase Ni deforms seriously,and the content of TiB2coated on binder phase Ni surface increases. The main phase components of TiB2 50Ni powder and coating are TiB2 and Ni,and coating has dense microstructure and low porosity,the average hardness of TiB2 50Ni coating is(597.9±36.1)HV0.3.
