Abstract
The theory and model of ecological footprint was introduced, based on which to calculate and analyze ecological footprint of Shanghai in 2003. Relationship between ecological footprint theory and eco-city construction was discussed to conclude that ecological footprint should be reduced and sustainable development capability be improved with not reducing living standard as premise.
