Abstract

The effects of quenching and tempering temperatures and cooling rate on microstructure and properties of medium-carbon Cr-Si-Mn wear-resistant cast steel were investigated.The results reveal that the hardness keeps its value at 50~52 HRC and the impact toughness increases significantly with the increase of quenching temperature.The impact toughness is up to 75 J.cm-2 by quenching at 1 050 ℃.When tempering temperature was above or below 250 ℃,the hardness and the impact toughness decreased.When the cooling rate came to about 9 ℃/min,the bainite/martensite duplex microstructure with 5% retained austenite was obtained.The hardness and impact toughness of tested steel are 45 HRC and 125 J·cm-2 respectively.
