Abstract

Many different methods are used to explore the interspecific relationship, including χ2-test for 2×2 contingency tables,Pearson’s correlation coefficient test and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient test, etc. But there are less research using the quantitative data in researching interspecies relationship,as well as analyzing the inter-species interaction mechanism. In recent decades along with the developing of the quantitative ecology theory and the methods, the interspecies relationship research has much distinct progress. There are various kinds of wetlands, including Xiahewan reservoir,Zhentouhe reservoir, flooding plain and so on,and they have rich biodiversity in Huliu River watershed,Shanxi.Based on the data of 70 plots investigated in the field, the interspecific relationship among 33 dominant populations of the communities, that is 528 species-pairs,of wetlands in Huliu River watershed,Shanxi was studied by using χ2-test for 2×2 contingency tables,Pearson’s correlation coefficient test and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient test respectively. The results showed that 209 species-pairs were positive association and 317 species-pairs were negative association, while 2 species-pairs were none association by χ2- test. The ratio of positive and negative association were 0.659 3.21 species-pairs were significant positive association, and 3 species-pairs were significant negative association, and the number of species-pairs being significant(n=70,p0.05) made accounted for 4.54% in the total species-pairs by χ2-test.16 species-pairs were higher significant positive association, which accounted for 3.03 % in the total species-pairs by χ2-test.20 species-pairs were higher significant(n=70,p0.01),while 11 species-pairs were significant(n=70,p0.05) by Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and all of them were positive correlation.207 species-pairs were positive correlation, which accounted for 10.61% in the total species-pairs by Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient.34 species-pairs were higher significant positive correlation and 22 species-pairs were significant positive correlation.321 species-pairs were negative correlation, which accounted for 3.03 % in the total species-pairs by Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, including 16 species-pairs of significant negative correlation. The ratio of positive and negative association were 0.644 8,and the species-pairs being significant(n=70,p0.05) accounted for 7.20%,and the interspecific relationships was not significant in the most dominants of this community by Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient test.According to the adaptability to the environment and the relationships between plants and environment,33 species were divided into 3 ecological species groups:Typha group,Leymus group and Potentilla group.
