Deng Xiaoping's strategic thought of educational development is a coordinated component of Deng Xiaoping Theory. It is the actual application and development of Marxist theory of education and Mao Zedong's thought of education in modern times. Deng Xiaoping's strategic thought of education is mainly reflected through the following aspects: the strategic orientation of China's educational development; the importance of ideological and political education in the new era; the respect of knowledge and talented personnel; as well as the stresses given to education by leaders and governments at all levels with strategic views.
