Abstract

Objective To explore the relations between uric acid and insulin resistance in elderly patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods Fasting plasma glucose,insulin,insulin sensitive index[ISI,Ln (1/fasting plasma glucose*fasting serum insulin)],uric acid,total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesteroi(LDL-C) were determined in138 patients with CHD and in 45 healthy control group.Results①Insulin and uric acid of CHD group were significanty higher than that in control group,ISI was obviously lower compared with that in control group.②When the patients with CHD were stratified by absence or presence of hyperuricemia,TG of patients with hyperuricemia was obviously higher than that in patients without hyperuricemia,HDL-C was obviously lower compared with that in control group.③There were negative correlation between uric acid and ISI in patients with CHD.Conclusion Elevation of serum uric acid in CHD is associated with insulin resistance.
