Abstract
The standard rack-type cutter model is created in three-dimensional software.The virtual machining by involute gear through Boolean operation is studied according to the mutual envelop theory of conjugate profiles.The precise involute gear model with complete profile characteristic is obtained.The parametric design of gear was constructed by using CATIA V5 knowledge engineering module and the secondary development function.It's modeling principles and methods are an effective way for complex curving workpieces of digital modeling.
