The influence of psychological intervention on emotion and self-esteem of breast cancer patients during perioperative period

Abstract

Objective:To assess the effects of psychological intervention on breast cancers’ emotion and self-esteem during the time of operation.Methods:60 volunteers who were diagnosed as breast cancer with fine needle aspiration were divided into two groups.All the patients received the tests of psychological rating scales(SAS,SDS,SCL-90,SEI,TCSQ).The patients in intervention group were given 45 minutes’ psychological intervention before operation.Results:The intervention group patients had significantly decreased scores in SAS,SDS,SCL-90,NC and increased scores in PC,SEI,compared to the controls(P0.01,P0.01,P0.01,P0.01,P0.01,P0.01,respectively).Conclusion:Psychological intervention can significantly improve the patients’ psychological status.
