Abstract

Objective To select the most efficient surfactant for extracting rutin from Flos sophorae and optimize the extraction process. Methods Different non-ionic surfactants were used as assistants to extract rutin from flos sophorae under the same conditions and the most efficient surfactant for extracting rutin from Flos sophorae were selected. Then the L9(34) orthogonal test was used to optimize the extraction conditions. Moreover, the effects of the following conditions: the crush herbs, surfactant concentration, solvent concentration, heating time on the extraction rate and the purity of rutin from flos sophorae were investigated. Results The results indicated that the extraction efficiency of Rutin from Flos sophorae was improved obviously by the non-ionic surfactant Tween-20.The crush herbs, surfactant concentration were the significant influencing factors, however the solvent concentration and heating time were non-obviouse factors. Conclusion The optimal extraction condition of rutin from Flos sophorae was medicinal materials powder, surfactant dose was 0.05g,amount of solvent was 200ml and the extraction time was 30min,when the amount of medicinal materials was 10g.
