Abstract

Objective To investigate the curative effect of nasal atomization Budesonide in treating nasal polyps. Methods The expression of RANTES and the number of eosinophils were measured before and after the atomization treatment of Budesonide compared with Dexamethasone treatment. The cilia of nasal polyp epithelium was evaluated using scanning electron microscope before and after the treatment with Budesonide. Results The expression level of RANTES and the number of eosinophils significantly decreased after the treatment of Budesonide(P0.05) with the same effect as that of Dexamethasone. The residual cilia were in a uniform order after the treatment of Budesonide. Conclusion Budesonide demonstrates antiinflammatory effects by down-regulating the expression of RANTES and the number of eosinophils. Function of cilia is partly recovered after the atomization treatment of Budesonide.
