Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the clinical efficacy of Algoplaque in treatment of phlebitis caused by chemotherapy with PICC.so as to reduce the incidence of phlebitis and imprrove the cure rete.METHODS A total of 90 patients with phlebitis caused by chemotherapy with PICC were selected and randomly divided into two groups:42 cases in the control group were treated with MEBO along the vein shape,4-6 times a day;and 48 cases in experimental group were treated with Algoplaque topicaled along the vein shape, replaced once every 5 days. The clinical improvement, comfort and satisfaction of the patients with chemotherapy-induced phlebitis in both groups were observed.RESULTS The effective rate in the experimental group was 95.8%,66.6% in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.01).CONCLUSION Algoplaque is effective in treating chemotherapy-induced phlebitis by PICC and can significantly improve the comfort and satisfaction of the patients, reducing the nursing workload.
