Abstract
The short-term free chlorine plus chloramine can make full advantages of free(chlorine's) quick inactivation of microorganism and chloramine's low formation of disinfection products(DBPs),so as to achieve the control of both microbe and DBPs.Pilot-scale test was carried out in a Tianjin water treatment plant,the result shows that this disinfection process is little more effective than free chlorine process in the control of total count of bacteria and total coliforms.It also shows that free chlorine plus chloramine may have some synergistic effect due to the different attacking point.
