Strategies for Development and Utilization of Wild Fruit Trees in Gansu Province

Germplasm resource of wild fruit trees in main forestry regions and natured reserves of Gansu province were preliminarily investigated.The results showed that wild fruit trees resources were abundant in Gansu,where there were 312 species and 46 varieties(forms),belonged to 32 families,70 genera.Most wild fruit trees belong Rosaceae,Saxifragaceae,Berberidaceae,Actinidiaceae,Vitaceae or Elaeagnaceae.Wild fruit trees resources at different geographical distribution areas in Gansu were studied for the first time.The results showed that distribution of resources at various geographical areas were disproportion.Wild fruit trees resources were the richest in southern parts of Gansu,the resources were richer in southeastern and southwestern parts,the resources were the poorest at Hexi corridor,the resources were poorer at Qilian mountainous areas and middle parts.And some strategies for development and utilization of wild fruit trees resource were put forward.
