Clinical observation on knee osteoarthritis treated with warming needle moxibustion on Neixiyan (ST35) and Waixiyan (EX-LE5) acupoints

Abstract

Object:To observe the curative effect of warming needle moxibustion on knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods:270 cases of KOA were allocated to 2 groups randomly.The treatment group(270 cases)was treated with warming needle moxibustion(WNM),while the comparison group(200 cases)with the ultrashort wave diathermy apparaturs(UWDA).Result:The total effective rate was 98.15% in the warming needle moxibustion group,and 91.50% in the ultrashort wave diathermy apparatus group.The comparison of the two groups showed distinguished significance(P0.01).Conclusion:The warming needle moxibustion group possesses markedly curative effect to KOA.
