Warming Needle Moxibustion in Treating 30 Cases of Painful Knee Osteoarthritis

Abstract

Objective To observe the analgesic effect of warming needle moxibustion on painful knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods 60 KOA patients were randomly divided into two groups,the treatment group(30 cases) received acupuncture and moxibustion,and the control group(30 cases) received medium fre-quency electrotherapy.The total effective rate and pain intensity scores of two groups were evaluated.Re-sults After 10 days,the total effective rate of treatment group and control group was 90%,85.71% respec tively,and there were significant differences between them(P0.05).The pain scores were decreased in the two groups,and there were significant differences between them(P0.05).Conclusion Warming needle moxibustion has good effects on painful KOA patients,and its analgesic effect was better than that of other method.
