Abstract
Objective To analysis the outcome of zone-division LASIK for moderate to high mixed astigmatism. Methods Thirty-four eyes of 26 cases with moderate to high mixed astigmatism were treated with LASIK (self-design program ART of divided zone from visx stard). Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was measured for the eyes prior to, half and one year after the surgery. We analyzed residual astigmatism and VA changes statistically. Results The BCVA was improved by one Snellen’s line 6 months after the surgery in 25 operated eyes (74%) but did not change in 9 operated eyes (26%) compared to the pre-LASIK BCVA. The mean residual astigmatism was (-0.57±0.20)DC (range:-0.25 DC to -0.87 DC) and the mean axial change was less than 30° in the whole group. The patients felt more comfortable about their vision performance. Conclusion Zone-division LASIK can achieve reasonable results for moderate to high astigmatism.
