Abstract
This paper presents a study on the characteristics of sediment transport and sediment delivery ratio in the lower Yellow River based on data of runoff and sediment load measured from 1950 to 2002.Formulas for sediment load and sediment delivery ratio were developed based on the sediment discharge equation which includes the incoming sediment concentration at the upstream.Verification by the measured data indicates that the developed formulas for sediment load and sediment delivery ratio have a very high accuracy. These formulas can be used to further study sediment transport processes for the changed flow and sediment conditions.
