Analysis of postoperative complications of laser technology adjuvant therapy for treating varicose great saphenous vein

Objective To explore the causes and prevention methods of the postoperative complications of laser technology adjuvant therapy for varicose great saphenous vein.Methods The clinical data of 155 patients(187 legs) with varicose great saphenous vein who were treated with laser technology were analyzed retrospectively,and the occurrence,causes and control measures of postoperative complications were summarized.Results During the followed-up period of 6-10 months,in the vast majority of patients,the varicose veins clumps and the feelings of soreness and discomfort disappeared,the ulcer healed,the pigmentation became lighter,the rash subsided.In the 187 legs of 155 patients,complications occurred on 87 legs,the incidence was 46.5%(87/187).Some legs showed more than two kinds of complications.The occurrence rates of phlebitis,subcutaneous ecchymosis,saphenous nerve injury,skin adustum,lower limb swelling and deep venous thrombosis were 17.6%(33/187),13.4%(25/187),9.6%(18/187),6.4%(12/187),4.3%(8/187) and 0.5%(1/187),respectively.One patient with deep venous thrombosis had sequela,the rest of complications had be cured after treatment.Conclusion The laser treatment on varicose great saphenous vein has the advantages of tiny wound and good efficacy,but the positive and effective measures should be taken to prevent the occurrence of complications.
