New theory on natural value

Abstract

Value is not only a primary concept of conventional philosophy, but an important concept of environmental ethics. Standing on eco-holism, Rolston founds a new theory on natural value through the unity of subjective and objective natural values,the levels of natural values,the model of intrinsic,instrumental and ecosystematic values. His natural value theory has been a dominant genre in the western environmental ethics.
