Abstract

New prose in the era of network culture differs distinctly from prose in the age of paper media, because prose writing was then confined to the individualized prose of intellectuals while it is now faced with challenges from new prose, which is characterized by popularization,idolization,recreation-orientedness and diversification. In the era of network culture, every netizen is likely to be a prose writer. As such, many problems have arisen, namely, the confounding literary style, the vulgar language and degenerate functions, which will impact the aesthetic evaluation of new prose in the literary circles.
