The Composition and Analysis of Modern Chinese Prose Style:On Behavior of Prose Writing

The categorization of literary styles into four kinds has to some extent misled people in their understanding of modern Chinese prose style.In fact,modern prose has inadequate public style resources,making it unable to be compared and contrasted with poetry,novels and drama.The prose writing during the May Fourth Movement abandoned the elements and the order in Tongcheng prose with a rebellious attitude.From the New Youth magazine to Yusi magazine,the innovation of prose style was manifested in several dimensions,ranging from amiable chats to harsh critiques.The externalization of the impulse of life strengthened the stylistic temperament of prose so that the composition of modern Chinese prose is epitomized in form.For this reason,a new trail needs to be blazed in the stylistic study of prose,and it is a more feasible alternative to proceed from writing behavior to enter the particular formal space of prose.
