Oblique Osteotomy of Mandibular: on Eleven Cases

Objective To evaluate the clinical results after the reduction of the prominent mandibular angle by using the intraoral oblique mandibular osteotomy and the lateral cortex around mandibular angle osteotomy. Methods Eleven cases of prominent mandibular angle were involved in this study and all of them underwent the intraoral oblique mandibular osteotomies. Results After 3 to 6 months following up postoperatively, the lateral angles formed by the rami and the body is nearly normal. The low facial profile seems elegant and there's no external scar. Conclusion The intraoral oblique mandibular osteotomy is a relatively simple surgical method which can and reduce the prominent mandibular angle effectively.
