Investigation and Analysis on the Quality of 5 800 Prescriptions of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the quality of outpatient prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine and the use of traditional Chinese medicine in our hospital to promote the standardization of writing and clinical rational drug use.METHODS: A total of 5 800 outpatient prescriptions sampled in our hospital from January 2009 to May 2011(200 per month) were analyzed statistically using tables.RESULTS: 1 168(20.14%) of the prescriptions were found to be unqualified,with 763(13.16) non-standard in writing and 405(6.98%) irrational in drug use.CONCLUSION: The use of traditional Chinese medicine in our hospital was rational on the whole yet there were still many problems.It is necessary to tighten enforcement of prescription management method and strengthen the supervision and check on prescriptions so as to improve the quality of prescriptions and promote rational drug use.
