Abstract
The literary modernity research in the 20th century was carried out under the influence of Zhou Zuoren's comments,focusing on the comparative studies between the literature in the late Ming Dynasty and the new literature during the May 4th Movement. Afterwards,under the guidance of materialism,focus was laid on anti-feudalism and enlightenment of the late Ming Dynasty literature.After 1950,reseraches of its modernity were more conducted in light of the the history of ideology,history of academic disciplines, and the wholeness concept and aesthetic thought of Chinese literature.Since the 21st century,more emphasis is laid on the modernity of the late Ming Dynasty in areas of consumption culture and personality cases.
