On Su Tong's Novels and the Culture of the south of Yangtze

Works of a contemporary writer,Su Tong,is stemming from the culture of the south of Yangtze.Taking a broad view of his novels from the themes,the styles to the features of his language,all with the flavor of the cultural influence are the contemporary deduction and reproducing of the culture of the south of Yangtze.The original links of Su Tong's novels with the culture are from three aspects: 1) Themes of women aestheticism,Su Tong has molded a group of beautiful women accurately in his novels,which can be traced back to the period of Yongjia in the Eastern Jin Dynasty;2) Styles of the dreamlike fantasy,i.e.the space-time order is confusing and the plots are developed fuzzily and the images are miscellaneous in his novels,which are mainly affected by the culture of the south of Yangtze;3) The sentimental and decadent language,this is the result of the accumulated precipitate of humanity and geography of this specific region.
