Dual Influence of Market Economy upon Democracy

Market economy has dual influence upon democracy. On the one hand, market economy has a positive influence upon democracy through facilitating the formation of democratic fundamental for social condition and circulated circumstances. On the other hand, market economy affects democracy negatively because it could bring on economic inequality. In the same way, China's reform of market economy for more than twenty years has had dual influence upon political and economic development of Chinese society. Under these conditions, democratic construction should bring positively promoting function of market economy into full play and meanwhile avoid negative or destructive action, and ultimately accomplish harmonious development of social politics and economy.
