New Research into East Asian Monetary Cooperation

After the Asian financial crisis, most of the East Asian countries have ever worked hard to facilitate and strengthen the East Asian financial cooperation, especially monetary cooperation. But for various reasons, the East A-sian monetary cooperation remains at a lower leve and develops slowly in general. With its whole economical recovery , East Asia needs a more strengthened economy and currency cooperation of itself. This paper reviews and analyzes the background of currency cooperation of Asia and its main obstacles, and then puts forward some countermeas-ures and suggestions to strengthen the East Asia monetary cooperation.
