Abstract
The outbreak of the East Asian financial crisis in 1997 brought about great economic losses to the entire region,it made all countries and regions in East Asian recognize the importance and urgency of building monetary cooperation in this region.This paper analyzes the power and interests of monetary cooperation in all countries of the East Asian from the perspective of international political economy.Based on this,the author then proposes that the realization of the East Asian monetary cooperation should well handle the power and interest relation between the global hegemony of the United States,the regional power such as China,Japan,and the ASEAN countries.
