Abstract

The influences of sub-temperature quenching on hardness of 40Cr steel were studied using orthogonal regressive principle, and the regression equation of the hardness was established. The results show that the higher the temperature of sub-temperature quenching, and the lower the temperature of tempering, the higher the hardness within the range of experiment's temperature. The grain size of 40Cr steel quenched by sub-temperature quenching is smaller than that by normal quenching.
