The Professional Ethics of Translators in Ancient China's Tongshi Period

Language competence is essential for a translator,and at the same time professional ethics should not be neglected.A translator was called a tongshi in ancient China until the founding of the P.R.China.This long period can be called Tongshi Period,during which period the professional ethics of tongshi remain a good lesson to present-day translators.The author explores the immoral behaviours of tongshi and analyses the reasons and puts forwards some measures to improve the professional ethics of translators.
