Analysis of the Drugs for Digestive System Used in Partial Hospitals of Guangdong Province During the Period of 1999~2003

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the condition of the drugs for digestive system in the hospitals of Guangdong province.METHODS:To collect the data of the drugs for digestive system from more than 50 representative hospitals of Guangdong province, and analyze the amount of money spent on the drugs for digestive system in above hospitals, the condition of the use of import, joint-venture and domestic drugs and the condition of the use of the drugs ranking in the first 10 places in amount of money. RESULTS: The amount of money spent on the drugs for digestive system synchronously increased with total amount of money of the drug use during the period 1999~2003 The amount of money of domestic drugs was slowly increasing. Antiacid, drugs for peptic ulcer and hepatic disease constituted 64 21% of the total consumption of the drugs for digestive system. omeprazole stood in the first place in amount of money of drug use. CONCLUSION: With improving of the people's living standard, drug consumption level has gradually risen and drug consumption structure has also tended to be reasonable.
