Analysis of the Drugs Used for Diabetes in Some Hospitals of Guangdong Province During the Period 2001～2003

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the amount of money spent on the drugs used for diabetes in some hospitals of Guangdong province during the period 2001～2003, in order to know the use and the changing tendency of the drugs used for diabetes in Guangdong. METHODS: By using drug-purchase statistical dada collected from “Hospital medication information net of pharmaceutical society of Guangdong province ”, the amount of money on the drugs used for diabetes in some hospitals in Guangdong during the period 2001～2003 were added up, ranked and analyzed. RESULTS CONCLUSION: Although the proportion of selling amount of money spent on the drugs used for diabetes to total amount of money of the whole drugs was basically stable during 2001～2003, their absolute amount of money rose year by year; Insulin preparations occupied large part of the portion on the market and competition in market was also sharp.Of oral antidiabetic drugs, euglycemic agents have wide future on the market.
