Abstract

In this paper, the effect of PP-g-MAH and ABS-g-MAH on the properties of PP/ABS composite was studied. The results showed that the maleic anhydride improved the tensile strength and flexural strength which were increased with the increase of the content of the graft copolymer of the composite material, but the impact strength decreased. The best performance appeared when the content of PP-g-MAH was 10 phr.The strength and stiffness of PP/ABS composite increased with the increasing of the content of ABS.With the increase of the content of ABS,the ABS phase distribution converted from the sea-island-like to the sea-sea-like structure. The SEM results showed the maleic anhydride contributed to the dispersion of ABS in polypropylene,The DSC data showed that the degree of crystallinity of materials with maleic anhydride graft was improved.
