Abstract
In this study, the PA6/ABS alloy was prepared using the acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer(ABS)grafted by the maleic anhydride(ABS-g-MAH)as the compatibilizer. The effect of compatibilizer ABS-g-MAH on the PA6/ABS alloy′s condensed structure and mechanical properties were investigated. Results showed that the impact strength of the alloy with 20% compatibilizer was 41% higher than that of alloy without the compatibilizer. It was proved by the dynamic mechanical analysis and the polarization microscope that the alloy′s compatibility was improved considerably by the addition of ABS and ABS-g-MAH.The water absorption performance was improved by the addition of ABS and ABS-g-MAH.When the content of ABS-g-MAH was 10 wt%,the alloy′s water absorbency decreased by 50%,compared with the neat PA6. Key wodrs: Nylon 6;ABS;MAH;Compatibilizer;Modification
