Abstract
Grus leucogeranus is a key birds protected at national-level.Research shows that its foraging habitat has played a crucial role in multitudinous factors influencing survival of Grus leucogeranus. Therefore,an investigation on the foraging habitat by GPS and factor determination method was conducted in Tumuji Natural Reserve,Inner Mongolia,China. The results showed that it likes swamp for foraging sedge, reeds and cattail etc.in spring every year; The heights of sedge is at 40~80 cm,reed is at 40~60 cm,cattail is at 80~100 cm;The coverage of plant is between 0~25% mainly, density is≥70·m-2,foraging depth in water is ≤12~18 cm.
