Silicone tube implantation to treat lacrimal duct obstructionguided by nasal endoscope

Objective To summarize the experience of silicone tube implantation to treat lacrimal duct obstruction guided by nasal endoscope.MethodDifferent kinds of lacrimal duct obstruction in 32 cases(38 eyes) underwent the implantation of lacrimal drainage tubes or silica gel tubes with spherical end.ResultsAll the operations were successful in 32 cases(38 eyes).The postoperative folow-up of three months revealed that the effective rate was 89.5 %.ConclusionIt is safe and effective to implant silicone tube in the treatment of lacrimal duct obstruction guided by nasal endoscope and it has the advantages of minimal invasion,fewer complications and quicker recovery.
