Abstract

Objective To examine the effects of micronised fenofibrate on the levels of serum endothelin-1(ET-1)and nitric oxide(NO) in hyperlipidemic patients. Methods 42 patients with hyperlipidemia were treated with micronised fenofirate(200 mg a day,8 weeks).Blood lipid and the concentrations of ET-1 and NO were measured before and after 8 weeks treatment. Results The levels of TC,LDL-C and ET-1 decreased significantly while the levels of HDL and NO greatly increased after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Micronised fenofibrate may improve hyperlipidemic and the endothelial function by the inhibition of ET-1 secreation and the introducing of NO release.
