Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the treatment policy for stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL) of the nasopharynx. Methods: Ninety Patients with stage Ⅰ or Ⅱ NHL of the nasopharynx were treated from January 1995 to January 2001,the methods of treatment included radiotherapy alone and radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy. Results: For patients with stage Ⅰ,the 3 and 5 year survival rates in radiotherapy alone group and in radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy group were 94.4%,88.9% and 92.3%,84.6% respectivly. For patients with stage Ⅱ,the 3 and 5 year survival rates were 62.5%,50% in radiotherapy alone group and 92.9%,85.7% in radiotherapy combined with the chemotherapy group respectively. Conclusion: For patients with stage I NHL of nasopharynx, radiotherapy alone can be used, and the comprehensive therapy may be optimal for the stage Ⅱ NHL.
