Study on countermeasures for water resources situation and water shortage in north region along Huaihe River

The water resources situation of the north region along Huaihe River and its development and utilization status as well as the relevant problems are analyzed herein;in which a triple-balance analysis is made on the regional water resources,and then a concept of replacing the over-exploitation of the deep groundwater within the urban areas with the local surface water and diverted water is put forward,i.e.only if the Water Transfer Project from the Yangtze River to Huaihe River,the Water-transfer Project from Huaihe River to Huaibei and the Water-transfer Project from Huaihe River to Huaixi are implemented can the problem of water shortage therein be basically solved.
