An Assessment on the Competitiveness of Regional Tourism in Shandong based on Factor Analysis

Shandong is one of the developed tourism provinces in China,but the tourism development is imbalanced within this province and there are a serious of problems.Assessment on the regional tourism competitiveness can help find out the advantages and disadvantages of different cities in Shandong province,so that countermeasures can be put forward.This paper established an index system.With the help of SPSS and factor analysis,the competitiveness of regional tourism of 17 cities in Shandong was compared and analyzed.And 17cities in Shandong were classified into three groups by hierarchical cluster analysis.The advantages and defects are analyzed and countermeasures are put forward.
