Abstract
A field experiment was set up to study the effect of different nitrogen application levels and planting density levels on root and yield in peanut. The results showed that nitrogen application levels had significantly influenced root morphology, root length, surface area and volume rise with increasing nitrogen dose.Nitrogen application increased the accumulation of dry weight, suggesting that nitrogen enhanced root growth. On the contrary, the increasing of density conducive the root development in horizontal direction, the root dry weight accumulation decreased. The yield was so sensitive to the planting densities and N-application levels.Considering the interaction of planting densities and N-fertilizer levels, the 135 thousands plants per ha,105 kg hm-2 treat is suitable.
