Abstract

Objective:To investigate the factors that affect intraocular pressure (IOP) after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). Methods:LASIK were performed on 238 myopic patients (473 eyes) and were followed up for 1 year after LASIK. The refractive power,comeal thickness,corneal curvature and IOP reading were analyzed preoperatively and at 3 months,6 months and 12 months after LASIK. Results:The refactive power,corneal thickness,corneal curvature and IOP reading decreased markedly after LASIK than before which had significant difference(P0.0001). The lowering of IOP reading was correlated positively with comeal thickness and corneal curvature and not with the refractive power pre-and post-operatively. Conclusion: IOP reading is lower after LASIK and the main factors that affect IOP reading are corneal thickness and corneal curvature.
