Abstract
An exogenous CaCl 2 treatments enhanced drought resistance of maize seedlings in drought stress. In addition, CaCl 2 treatments increased GR activity ,heat stable protein content and proline content , decreased cytomembrane permeability during drought stress, indicating that external Ca 2+ enhanced drought tolerance of maize seedlings by increasing GR activity , heat stable protein content and proline content to protect cell membrane from destruction.
