An Analysis of the Current Situation and the Demand Characteristics of Families with Elderly Disabled Members

With the aging process of people with disabilities and the high risk for elderly people becoming disabled, both the scale of the elderly disabled and the number of families involved are increasing. Affected by the imbalance between supply and demand of the present social services, families with the elderly disabled are vulnerable groups in society. Mainly based on the data from the Second National Sample Survey on Disability, this paper describes the current situation and the demand characteristics of families with elderly disabled members, explores the design of social service system to meet their special needs, so that people with disabilities and their families can share the fruits of the economic and social development and enjoy a better life.
