A New Species of Carinata(Homoptera: Cicadellidae: Evacanthinae) from China

Abstract

This paper deals with a new species of the genus Carinata . All the type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University. Carinata midfasciana wang et Li, sp. nov. (Figs.1～7) Length incl. tegm: ♂ 6.1 mm～6.3 mm, ♀ 6.2 mm～6.5 mm. This species is similar to Carinata barbulata Yang et Zhang in the appearance, but can be distinguished from the latter by tegmen with a black longitudinal fascia, the outside of gena with a black spot, the apex of aedeagus hooked and with a pair of long processes near base. Holotype: ♂, Paratypes: 3♂♂,5♀♀, Pianma (26.05°N,98.40°E), Yunnan Province, 18 Ⅷ 2000. coll. Li Zizhong and Yang Maofa.
