The Complementarity Analysis of Agricultural Products Trade between China and Kyrghizstan

【Objective】Kyrghizstan,adjacent to our country is rich in agricultural and natural resources.The scale of agricultural products trade between us is expanding.The intensity of economic and trade cooperation of Shanghai Cooperation Organization,as well as the implementation of the strategies of opening to the West and agriculture going out create a good opportunity for the development of the bilateral agricultural products trade.The study analyses the complementarity of agricultural products trade of these two countries,and provides countermeasures and suggestions on how to make full use of trade complementarity and promote bilateral agricultural products trade.【Method】Statistical analysis combined with the trade index analysis method is applied.【Result】 The comparative advantage of the major agricultural products of China and Kyrghizstan appears to be complementary.The export that China exports to Kyrghizstan are what the country needs to import:vegetables,fruits,honey,live animals(chicken,lamp),animal and plant oil,food,beverage,wine,vinegar,tobacco,and smokeless tobacco;while the agricultural products the country exports are what China wants to import: cotton,animal skins and wool.The goods imported and exported between the two countries have great competitive advantages.【Conclusion】When it comes to the development of bilateral trade between China and Kyrghizstan,the full advantage of the complementarity of agricultural products trade between these two countries should be emphasized so as to ensure and promote the sustainable trade development in the future.
