Classical Chinese artistic essays are the highly graceful,refined and expressive works of art,rich in personality,wisdom and literary charm.They are characterized by their expressive and aesthetic functions.Due to the great obstacles caused by time,space,different languages and cultures,the translation of classical Chinese artistic essays remains a difficult job.The study on the possible readers of the translations of classical Chinese artistic essays,including the range of the possible readers and their aesthetic reading expectations of language,genre,image and connotation,is instructive to the translation practice.The specific translation strategies in light of the study on the readers may conform more to the readers' aesthetic demand.Readers are the ultimate target of translation practice,and translators must take them into consideration in advance.
