Analysis on treatment of 78 patients with retinal vein occlusion

Objective To analysis the main methods and effects of treatment in a series of patients with retinal vein occlusion(RVO).Methods Clinical records were reviewed to analysis the main methods and effects of treatment on 78 patients with retinal vein occlusion between October,2003 and October,2006.In 81 eyes,21 eyes were central retinal vein occlusion(CRVO),58 eyes were branch retinal vein occlusion(BRVO)and 2 eyes was macular branch retinal vein occlusion(MBRVO).17 eyes of CRVO were under drug therapy,4 eyes under laser photocoagulation;45 eyes of BRVO were under drug therapy,13 eyes under laser photocoagulation,2 eyes of MBRVO was under drug therapy.Results 63 eyes of recent onset RVO were underwent drug therapy,and had 85.7% of therapy efficiency rate;17 eyes were underwent laser photocoagulation,and had 82.3% of therapy efficiency rate.Conclusion RVO has an expatiatory course of disease that shoud have periodic checkup.Different treatments including drug therapy,laser photocoagulation,vitrectomy should be applied in the different corese of the disease.
