Abstract

To reasonably evaluate the design throughput capacity of multi-shallow waterway, while determining the amount of dredging, the traditional tidal mode calculating method for multi-shallow waterway was improved, and discrete event simulation was adopted to establish throughput capacity calculation model for both the channel navigation conditions and the influencing factors.Simulation was carried out according to the actual data of a domestic channel. Results show that the model established for each shallow of multi-shallow waterway and simulation calculation for designed dredging scheme can make waterway dredging only for individual shallow while ensuring throughput capacity, which can greatly reduce the waterway dredging costs.Meanwhile, various dredging schemes were compared so as to determine the optimal depth of dredging, which has important theoretical and practical significance for waterway construction.
